International Women’s Day 2019
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2019
It’s officially International Women’s Day!
This marks an important time in history as we step forward to help forge a more gender-balanced world. Women have come a long way, yet there’s still more to be achieved. From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance.
To mark the occasion, we put one question to our staff –
“Who is an inspirational woman to you and why?”
Here’s just some of the inspiring answers we received:
A woman who inspires me is my Nana as she has been through a lot in her lifetime and still marches on. She is always there for the family and puts others first.
– Nicole Tervit, Business Support
There are many inspirational women who would be worthy of being a role model for the rest of us. Women such as Michelle Obama or Annie Lennox would be hard to beat. In terms of surveying, we can also be proud of the female members of our own team – sadly there is still a disproportionate amount of females in surveying, but we are balancing the numbers, and it is a tough challenge for any female to reach the position of Managing Director within the industry – well done City Property. For me my inspiration is closer to home. My mum wins hands down. She has fed, watered, nursed, worried about, loved and supported me throughout my whole life and continues to do so every day. She truly is an inspiration.
– Trish Kelly, Property Manager
Many staff will remember Vivienne who was an inspiration to us all. She worked with us through a terminal illness prognosis with real professionalism and integrity. She touched many of us with her massive personality and sense of humour. There was much more laughter than sadness and she would be delighted if we were remembering her with a smile on the 8th.
– Anne Gilmour, Member and Community Liaison Officer
