As part of an ongoing commitment to invest in staff, City Property (Glasgow) LLP has supported a number of colleagues in 2025 by enabling over 1,300 hours of staff training and professional development in a 12-month period and appointing 19 people to new roles throughout the year.

The appointment of 12 new starts in 2025 including two new Graduate Surveyors, a work experience student and a university placement through Napier University brings the total company headcount to 93, demonstrating the importance placed upon recruitment and workforce planning. Furthermore, the organisation has celebrated a number of successes, with ongoing staff development contributing to seven internal promotions during this year.

The appointment of two new Graduate Surveyors in 2025, means that a total of six recent graduates are currently having their Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) supported by City Property in addition to employment on a team-rotational basis to gain the practical experience required for completion of the chartered accreditation.

Ronan Curran, one of City Property’s six Graduate Surveyors commented:

“My time as a graduate with City Property has been very positive. Since joining in 2024, I’ve gained a lot of experience, working on several assets which has given me great exposure and built my confidence. The team are very knowledgeable and helpful, which makes it a great environment to learn. I’ve had excellent APC support and completed over 50 hours of CPD which has been a big help in developing my skills and knowledge.”

Chartered Surveyor, Arron Gauld, joined City Property as a graduate in 2023 and successfully passed his RICS APC assessment this year. Commenting on the achievement, Arron said:

“Whilst my APC journey was by no means stress free, the support of my colleagues helped ensure I was in the best possible position to do my final assessment. I am incredibly grateful to all for the time and effort that has been put into my development. City Property has provided me a fantastic start to my future career”.

Ensuring that staff have training and development opportunities is key to City Property’s ability to deliver a range of services including management of a diverse portfolio of 1,800 commercial assets and provision of professional property services to Glasgow City Council and ALEOs. In addition to RICS qualifications, other staff development during 2025 has included Association of Accounting Technicians, Business Administration and AutoCAD qualifications as well as defibrillator training for 24 staff and Mental Health First Aider training for five people, improving health and wellbeing resources for colleagues.

Nicky Neef, Head of Corporate Services commented:

“Investing in staff is a key priority area for City Property and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to support colleagues in their career development in 2025. Staff are our most important asset, and ongoing training is key to City Property’s workforce plan. This investment enables us to deliver continuous improvement and increase the satisfaction of our stakeholders across the city. We look forward to continuing to develop our people and organisation in 2026 and beyond.”
