City Property welcomes new bar and entertainment venue, Anderson’s

City Property Glasgow (Investments) LLP (CPGI) has agreed a new 20-year lease with Merchant Pubs & Bars Ltd for the premises located at 50-60 King Street in the Merchant City.

Working with agents Graham and Sibbald, City Property has let the 530 sq. m. asset to Anderson’s, a new food, drink and entertainment venue offering a traditional pub environment as well as a dedicated creative space. Taking inspiration from great pubs that have shaped Glasgow, the bright and welcoming upper level will serve elevated pub classics and quality drinks including cocktails and tank-fresh unpasteurised Tennent’s.  The Institute, located below the pub, will be a home for grassroots live music, cultural events and creative collaboration, aiming to be somewhere that the city can come together.

City Property’s new tenant is managed by an experienced team who have operated venues including Blackfriars and The Drake, with the ambition to serve good food while remaining rooted in the spirit of a proper Glasgow pub.

Michelin-star experienced Inesa Dirginciute, the group’s first female head-chef said:

The menu is rooted in comfort and nostalgia, but every dish is approached with the same care and attention you would expect in a Michelin-starred kitchen. We’re taking the food people grew up loving and elevating it through technique, quality ingredients and flavour, while still keeping it approachable, fun and recognisably Glasgow.

Courtney Flynn, Head of Sales, PR & Comms for Merchant Pubs & Bars Ltd added:

Glasgow has always had incredible pubs, places with real soul, personality and a sense of belonging. With Anderson’s, we wanted to create something that feels instantly familiar but genuinely exciting at the same time. It’s about celebrating Glasgow hospitality at its finest; exceptional food without pretension, brilliant drinks, live culture and warm service all under one roof. We truly believe Anderson’s has the potential to become a modern Glasgow institution.

Richard Watson, Property and Contracts Manager for City Property commented:

We’re delighted to welcome Anderson’s to our portfolio and to their new premises on King Street.  With an experienced team and a quality offering, I’m certain the venue will quickly establish a regular customer base; a positive step in the ongoing revitalisation of the area and contributing to the inclusive growth of Glasgow’s economy.  We’d like to thank the team at Graham and Sibbald for their work on this deal and we wish the team at Anderson’s every success for the future.

Anderson’s will open at 50-60 King Street from 10th July 2026 and will be offering 50% off food until the 30th July. The venue will open 7 days a week from 10am-1am. More information and details on how to book a table is available at www.andersonsglasgow.co.uk or www.instagram.com/andersons.glasgow
